I'm afraid feminism has so affected our churches in America that we now think of Jesus as girly.  This sweet frail man pats children on the head and argues for women's rights.  He's always nurturing, warming, and ready for a hug.

Jesus was a carpenter and probably had more in common with a truck driver than a mother or a pale academic who likes Star Trek.  Jesus was a tough guy and spent most of his time with men.  He brandished a whip, rebuked unbelief, called certain people whitewashed tombs, and threw over tables.  And he will one day cast all of his enemies in hell.

He wasn't a wimp who could blend with the feminine Fab Four.  He was a man—a manly man.
