Anxiety increased as I left my motel in Pattaya, Thailand, and rode into the red-light district. Several friends accompanied me in the truck. Our heart rate increased as we approached our destination. Prostitutes lined the streets, yelling to us as our truck passed.
During the last few days, I've been in Thailand with 180 adult missionaries from five different countries in this area. We're here for a week of training before we head back into our countries.
On Monday night, we loaded up with 14,000 packets of tracts and "JESUS" films, drove into the city, a city bubbling over with prostitutes. In about two hours, our team passed out hundreds of packets. It was only after seeing the grin on their faces, like kids opening presents on Christmas, that they became more than hookers. They suddenly became human.
