At least that's what you'd think by listening to a lot of American Christians.  When I look at the modern church, I want to call it Sissyanity rather than Christianity.  Come on, you know what I mean, the never ending mantra, "Be nice!," echoes along the halls of many churches.

DO BOXING AND CHRISTIANITY MESH? Print E-mail

Can boxing glorify Christ?  This question originally came to me years ago when a few Christians won championships in boxing, and some were vocal about their faith in Christ (e.g., Foreman and Holyfield).  And perhaps there have been more in recent years, but I'm out of touch with the boxing scene now.

ARE CHRISTIANS FREE TO DRINK IN MODERATION? Print E-mail

Throughout this article, I'll be responding to the article by Richard Land and Barrett Duke, "On Alcohol Use," posted on the ERLC.com website on July 25, 2006.  They argue that Christians should not drink alcohol for social purposes.  According to Land & Duke, Christians are not free to do so.  (I've italicized my longer quotations of them.)

In a recent article, Kevin McCullough writes about the methods of the so-called Christian Left.  He starts out discussing liberal theologian Tony Compolo and eventually moves to Jim Wallis.  About midway through his article, he calls Rick Warren the Christian Left's newest star.  He goes on to lump Warren in with these other liberals.  Is this a fair assessment?

PRIORITIZING OUR CHRISTMAS BUDGET Print E-mail

The temptation during the holidays is to spend too much money showering loved ones with gifts they don't need.  Unfortunately, our culture wants us to indulge further in materialism, thinking the only way to show our love is to spend money--and lots of it.
